I am very pleased to tell you that you have been conditionally accepted to the University of Denver for the fall quarter 2009. In order to guarantee your enrollment, you must complete and return the attached Statement of Understanding. If you do not completely understand the form, please have it translated. In order to be eligible to take academic classes, you must do one of the following: 1. Present a minimum TOEFL score of 525PBT/193BCT/70iBT, or IELTS score of 5.5 sent directly to our office by the respective testing services, OR 2. Successfully complete intensive English courses through the College Preparation Level (Level 5) at the University of Denver English Language Center. AND Receive the ELC director written recommendation for DU enrollment. Also, if you obtain the required TOEFL score while enrolled at the English Language Center, you must successfully complete the courses in which you are enrolled before you may begin your degree program. If you arrive in Denver without the minimum TOEFL or IELTS score, you will be required to take no less than one term of intensive English at our ELC prior to enrolling in any degree courses. In recognition of your special achievements, we are pleased to name you a University Scholar. As soon as you fulfill the English proficiency requirement (described above), you will receive an annual University of Denver merit award of $9,000. In addition, you will receive a $3,000 residence hall tuition-grant if you live in approved on-campus housing. Thus, your total merit award will be $12,000 if you live on campus. Furthermore, this award will be in effect for a maximum of four years from the point of your initial enrollment, excluding summer and interterm periods. When you have completed your English proficiency requirement, we welcome you to begin your studies here as soon as possible. In rare cases, some students may begin their studies in Winter, Spring or Summer Quarter. In order to confirm this offer of admission and reserve a place for you in your class, you must submit a $300 tuition deposit by May 1st. You may confirm your intent to enroll at DU before that date; however, the deposit is non-refundable. This deposit will be credited to your first quarter tuition charges. Your enrollment at the University of Denver is dependent on our receipt of the completed Statement of Understanding form, the application and application fee to the English Language Center, and a copy of your passport photo page. In case of a significant change in your academic performance or if you are involved in any illegal or disciplinary matters, the University reserves the right to withdraw our offer of admission.
