Hello Ms. ----, We just wanted to let you know that a hard copy of the following letter will be mailed to you today. Please let us know of any questions you might have. Thanks and Congrats! Sarah Congratulations! It gives us great pleasure to inform you that the College of Journalism and Communications has approved your application for admission into the International Communications sequence for the fall semester. As you may know, our graduate program is one of most selective in the nation. Dr. Michael Leslie is the Graduate Coordinator of the International Communications program and will serve as your initial adviser. We fully believe that your educational experience in our program will be exceptional. The College of Journalism and Communications, Graduate program is very selective; therefore, we respectfully ask that you confirm, in writing by April 15, 2009, if you plan to register for classes this fall within four weeks. Unfortunately, we do not have funding for you. Students are sometimes able to secure funding from other on-campus sources; however, you should not plan to enroll at Florida unless you can fund your graduate work through your own or other resources. Our degree plan requires that you earn a “C” or better in a basic statistics course, so you may need to take one before completion of the program. Demonstration of your knowledge of statistics will be determined in discussion between you and your adviser. If you have passed a course in statistics, were exempted through CLEP, or have satisfied the requirement in any other way, you will need to provide written verification to the College’s Division of Graduate Studies and Research. In addition, if you are currently completing your Bachelors degree, you must send a final transcript(s) to the Graduate School showing that you completed your undergraduate degree. You will not be able to register for classes if you fail to send the transcript(s). You may also receive correspondence from the University of Florida Office of admissions. You may register for classes after meeting with your adviser, but not before. If you receive a registration appointment from the registrar’s office, please disregard it. You will also be required to have your immunizations up-to-date or show proof of them, or you will not be able to register for classes if this is not done. You will receive information regarding Orientation in the coming months. You are expected to attend these events. In the meantime, if you have general questions about the International Communications sequence, please look over the information available at Congratulations on your admission! I hope to hear from you soon regarding your plans to enroll in our Master’s International Communications program. Sincerely,
